Requirements for Program Participation

  1. Must be a current APS customer.

  2. Unit must be owned by the customer.

  3. The refrigerator or freezer must be clean, empty, defrosted and in working condition.

  4. Refrigerator/freezer must be operable (maintains a cold temperature).

  5. If you are recycling one side-by-side refrigerator, it will be considered as one appliance for recycling. It will not be counted as two separate units.

  6. The unit needs to be plugged in and running on the day of the pickup.

  7. Recycling appliance must be disconnected from waterlines prior to the pickup crew's arrival.

  8. Refrigerator/freezer must be a standard size, between 10 - 30 cubic feet as measured from the inside (commercial or dorm size appliances are not eligible).

  9. There must be a clear pathway to pick up and remove refrigerator/freezer.

  10. There is a maximum of two units per household per year.

  11. An adult, 18 years of age or older, must be present to sign and release the unit at the time of the pickup.
